DEB launches digital coaches app “My Ice Hockey”

The German Ice Hockey Federation (DEB) introduced the trainer app “My Ice Hockey” in January 2020. The software, which was developed by the Swiss company Force8 GmbH, allows processes such as season and training planning as well as team and player management to be simplified and standardized.
After an intensive evaluation phase, DEB Sports Director Stefan Schaidnagel decided to introduce the app: “We tested various solutions to optimise our internal procedures and processes. The app convinced us right from the start in terms of operation and clarity. With My Ice Hockey, we are providing all those involved with an effective tool for game and team planning. Our coaching staff as well as the players and employees will benefit from this form of digital communication. Ultimately, it will also save us time when it comes to the overall planning of our national teams and at the same time create a valuable database that can be used again and again”.
Meeting the diverse requirements
Karl Schwarzenbrunner, National Coach for Science and Education adds: “For our selected teams, a uniform club solution for controlling training and competition management and for collecting, evaluating and archiving relevant data is becoming increasingly important. This is the only way to meet the increasingly diverse requirements in the work processes in the long term and to ensure that targeted athlete management works. And this is where My Ice Hockey helps us enormously”.
How My Ice Hockey works
My Ice Hockey is an online and mobile app for ice hockey coaches, with which the season, training and game planning as well as the team and player management is efficiently carried out. On the basis of the annual training plan, trainers can access a database containing over 1,900 exercises when preparing the units and plan the content in a targeted and needs-oriented manner. The tool is programmed by experienced ice hockey coaches – by coaches for coaches.
